Pred1x grades

Our index looked at an 83-82 thriller and refused to hand out a single eight. Dejour Reaves topped the grades at 7.1 — 15 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and a playmaking component of 0.723 — yet the reference rating stamped him at 8.7, the widest gap among Braunschweig's men. Devin Askew poured in 20 points and still graded just 6.4, because a defense score of 0.199 says the scoring bought little else.

Bent Leuchten is where the split bites hardest: 6 points and 3 rebounds in 11.1 minutes graded 5.1 here against a reference 6.8, while Todd Withers' 7 points drew 4.6 versus 6.2. Even volume didn't move us — TJ Crockett's 18 points came with a rebounding component of 0.113 and no defensive credit, landing at 5.4.

Across all 18 graded players, not one matched the reference. In a one-point game, we called it what the box score said: a lot of decent, very little dominant.
