Eleven minutes. That is all San Telmo needed to go 2-0 up in this Primera Nacional fixture — and, as it turned out, all the margin they would need. Almirante Brown scored twice more and still left with nothing, beaten 3-2.
The burst came fast. Elías Britez opened in the 9th minute off a Martín González pass and, two minutes later, Martin Leonel Batallini made it 2-0, set up by Nicolas Molina. Milton Zanotti pulled one back in the 39th and the teams went in at 2-1, with the lead halved but intact.
San Telmo's response came from the bench. A halftime double change sent on Roman Gamarra and Jeronimo Porto — for Batallini and Juan Motroni — and Porto needed six minutes to score, striking in the 52nd, again set up by Nicolas Molina, for 3-1. Leonardo Jara hit back in the 62nd to make it 3-2, but the equaliser never arrived. The benches stayed busy to the end: Julián López, Gastón Moreyra, Javier Ezequiel Martínez, Tobías Zárate and Santiago Gauna all came on for Almirante Brown — Jara himself withdrawn in the 84th — while Rodrigo Dinocco, Gabriel Paredes and Cristian Núñez saw late minutes for the home side.
Porto's strike was the decider. On from the break, the substitute turned Molina's second assist into the goal that stood as the winner. Molina set up two of San Telmo's three — Batallini in the 11th, Porto in the 52nd — and was the last home player withdrawn, replaced by Cristian Núñez in the 90th.
Five goals, a two-goal head start, a one-goal finish. San Telmo did their damage early; Almirante Brown spent the rest of the match paying for it.
