BasketballThunder 116-104 Spurs: 44:12 in front, a 26-point lead and no way back
Oklahoma City led by as many as 26 and held the floor for 44:12; San Antonio's 36-point third quarter changed nothing but the tone.
Oklahoma City never gave the Spurs room to breathe, while Maxey, the Warriors and Celtics supplied the night's other headlines.

San Antonio routed Sacramento 126-97 in the preseason behind a 42-18 first quarter, then spent the latest regular-season night chasing Oklahoma City almost from tip to horn. The Thunder led for 44:12 of game time, stretched the margin to 26 and closed out a 116-104 win at Frost Bank Center with the Spurs never getting close.
The rest of the slate had more bite. Philadelphia edged New York 106-100 at Madison Square Garden, Maxey's 28 steering the win after a third quarter that swung it, with late free throws outweighing the Knicks' rebounding edge.
The preseason delivered too: Golden State hit 18 threes with 29 assists in a 128-118 win over Portland before 18,064 fans at Chase Center, while Boston needed overtime to beat the 76ers 125-120, erasing Philly's lead with 17 threes and 18 offensive rebounds.
